Hello, friends,
No Kings 3 was a great success! Nationally, there were over 3,300 events with more than 8 million participants. No Kings 3 was the largest single day protest in American history!
You all did your part and turned out with friends and family. We had about 1,400 participants!
The air was cold but we defied the forecast and brought out the sun! Our speakers were passionate, relevant, and heart-felt. Folk musician and singer Devan Tracy provided beautifully sung and spirited renditions of classic and newer folk songs including, “This Land is Your Land” and “Lead with Love.” prior to our first speaker. You all sounded great singing along! Our Emcee, Sherry Boschert, from our leadership team, perked things up by appearing as a kitty, George Washington, an angel, a chicken rider, and as a carrot! She was a riot!
Our first speaker, Karen Liot Hill, the highest-ranking Democrat in New Hampshire, gave a rousing speech reminding us to stand up and be counted. She applauded our civic engagement for showing up at the protest, given that the Republicans in NH government are just as crude and rude in their anti-democratic tactics in Concord, as Trump’s enablers in Washington DC. Karen led chants and she sang – and wow can she sing!
Next, we enjoyed stirring, original tunes by folksinger-songwriters Jes Raymond and River Glen.
Pastor Mandy Lape-Freeberg’s speech, of the Church of Christ at Dartmouth, gave a refreshing contrast to the Christian Right’s bigotry. She drew from scripture to give emphasis to her message that all people are to be embraced, respected and loved, and that there is only one law for both citizens and strangers. We are to love the “stranger,” and to remember that at times we are the “stranger.”
Her colleague Pastor Reba Delzell, of the Williston-Immanuel United Church, Portland, Maine, shared the actions she took collectively with 19 other pastors in ME to protect immigrants when ICE surged in their community. Their intervention was effective and emotionally exhausting. She reminded organization leaders to be sure to integrate rest into their lives!
Kate Collins, a volunteer with local immigrant solidarity networks, informed us about the importance of reporting ICE sitings in the UV. (See Rapid Response in the body of the newsletter for hot line numbers.) The best defense against an ICE surge in our neighborhoods, she said, is to get to know your neighbors, now. If we wait until the surge is upon us, it’ll be too late. “Hold potlucks and block parties,” she said. That’s what worked in Minneapolis-St. Paul. We need to do that here, before it’s too late!
Between speakers we heard a tender and wise, original song by folksinger, James Graham about the importance of peace in the present. See his lyrics here.
Chuck Wooster founder of Sunrise Farms, in Hartford VT relayed the devastating impacts on climate change of Trump’s withdrawal of the U.S. from the Paris accord.
We’ll never forget his sincerity as he choked back his tears.
Leaders of Dartmouth College Democrats Beatrice Reichman and Leo Stritikus were passionate in describing the impacts on them, Gen Z, of growing up in the age of school shootings. Their insights on a wide range of issues were powerful. Here’s a sample, (paraphrased), “Targeting immigrants and trans persons doesn’t making housing more affordable.” We all cheered!
Singing Resistance told us about their movement and led us in two songs of hope, “Hold On” and “We Belong to Each Other.”
Tom Cormen, our Lebanon Ward 3 state house representative, focused on the debilitating impacts Free Staters are having on NH politics. He closed by encouraging folks to run for local positions.
We got another chance to sing when Adam Sorscher’s band, Never Too Late, came on and sang Mary Don’t You Weep, followed by a rousing, crowd-pleasing version of the classic, “If I Had a Hammer.”
Ken Soleyn of the New Hampshire Sierra Club provided a table display that stimulated discussion about environmental issues. You can see their photos and a video from the rally here.
The whole event was powerful and uplifting. Thank you all for turning out and for keeping it a peaceful and joyful rally. Because of our actions, locally and collectively across the nation, we succeeded in sending an unmistakable message to the power-hungry authoritarians and greedy mega-billionaires trying to take over our country. They are not going to win!
Join us again for No Kings 4 and No Kings 5 later this year!

No Kings 3 is upon us! Let’s support democracy and show tyrants that we are united in love and human decency. Let’s make this our biggest and best No Kings event ever!
As Robert Hubbell wrote in the March 16th Today’s Edition Newsletter:
Here’s the point for those seeking to defeat Trump and his enablers. He is weak, desperate, and cornered. Now is the time to ratchet up the pressure through political protests larger than any ever seen in American history.
That’s what we are doing when we come out together to this weekend’s No Kings event. We are also building community. An active program of being good neighbors – “neighboring” – worked in Minnesota. Reflecting on the defeat of ICE in Minneapolis-St. Paul, Thomas Friedman observed that
…the best part was this: At a time when we have a president so shameless that he insists on putting his name on every public building he can, these good Samaritans of all colors and creeds acted without fanfare. “There were hundreds of leaders of this movement,” Bill George, a longtime Twin Cities business executive, said to me, “and I don’t know a single one of their names.” (See NY Times, March 15, 2026)
So come out and meet friends and neighbors on the Lebanon Green, March 28th, 1:00-2:30 pm. Our event will include:

Hello, friends,
We remain distressed about the illegal war on Iran, the deployment of ICE, and the continued stonewalling regarding Trump and the Epstein files. Gas prices and health care costs going up while the rich get richer. We are distressed when one man, enabled by sycophants and greed, tries taking on the power of a monarch. We say – No Kings!
To that end we urge you to:

Call your members of congress and ask them to vote NO on any further funding for the Iran war.

Urge them to stay strong about no further funding for DHS until ICE is abolished or reformed.

Help build the movement by writing Letters to the Editor and posting to your social media, saying why you are coming to a No Kings! rally on March 28.
Our event on the Lebanon Green will include speakers, folk music, and opportunities to sing together. You’ll hear from Maggie Goodlander, Karen Liot Hill, Tom Cormen. Chuck Wooster of the Sunrise Farm CSA in Hartland will talk about the effect of the MAGA policies on local farmers. Rev. Reba Delzell of Portland, Maine, will share how her community responded to ICE's illegal actions, and two Dartmouth College students will give their point of view on the necessity for No Kings.
Adam Sorscher of Anonymous Coffee House fame has recruited local folk music performers to play before, during, and after the event. Come and sing along!

We are looking for peacekeepers. If you have, or would like to have, peacekeeper de-escalation training, please contact us.
We urge you to call your Members of Congress and tell them to resist further funding for the Trump war machine. It is clear they will be asking for more money, for supplies and munitions for this illegal war. Let’s keep the pressure on with the DHS shutdown, as well!

Week of March 1, 2026
Hello Friends,
We had a good week last week. We defeated the effort to convert a warehouse in Merrimack into a human warehousing center. The Epstein files continue to plague Trump and erode his MAGA base. So, of course, he came out with a big, dangerous distraction, the attacks on Iran. But we will keep advancing. Action is the antidote to anxiety. We won’t be intimidated. Take our victory in Merrimack as further proof that our national movement – individuals coming together in solidarity against the MAGA regime – is working. It is working here in NH and it’s working all across the nation. That’s what standing “indivisible” is all about!
If you haven’t taken a moment to celebrate that win, please do so. We still have a ways to go; refreshing your energy is important so you can stay in this effort. Thank you!
