Indivisible NH Upper Valley (INHUV) Endorsements Process (2026)
INHUV will consider making endorsements in contested local and county electoral races within our chapter boundaries as well as in statewide and federal races. For endorsement purposes, we consider the INHUV boundaries to be Grafton and Sullivan counties. If we endorse a candidate in a primary election, we commit to supporting the winning candidate in that race.
-
The Endorsements Committee will identify the races and candidates and election-related dates for possible endorsements by INHUV in 2026.
-
The Endorsements Committee will draft a list of common questions to be sent to all candidates in a particular race that we are considering weighing in on and will submit the questions to the Leadership Group for changes or approval.
-
The Endorsements Committee will distribute the final questions to candidates in our designated areas and give them a deadline for written responses. Candidates also will be invited to a brief live follow-up meeting, either in person or remotely, to discuss their answers to the questions. Active members of our active committees plus the Leadership Group will be invited to review written responses and to attend the live follow-up meeting(s).
-
The Endorsements Committee then will distribute the written Q&A and video interview materials to active members of INHUV’s active committees and invite them to attend a meeting to decide on who, if anyone, to endorse in a race. As of May 2026, active committees are the Endorsements Committee, Elections Integrity Committee, and Events Committee, plus the Leadership Group. The endorsement decision shall be made by consensus process unless some other decision-making process is agreed upon.
-
Upcoming discussions of the Endorsements Committee will include what resources or actions we propose to support our endorsed candidates. Once endorsements are made we will activate those efforts (which may include an Endorsements page on the INHUV website, promotions in our newsletter, letters to the editor or op-ed articles, flyers, rallies, candidate forums, canvassing, fundraisers, or whatever else we decide).
